e~Print Information and Instructions
e~Print is a Web based product that uses Internet technology
and SCT's Value Base Security to distribute reports across the
campus. All you need is a web browser and Adobe Acrobat Reader
in order to read, print or download information into Word, Excel
and other databases. Paper printing (complete and selective
pages) will always be an option for the end user, but will be
exception based and printed in the user's area.
e~Print Saves Time: Where you used to wait hours or
days for a printout to arrive from the computer center, you can
be notified by email and access the report the minute it is
created. The user departments save a considerable amount of time
to do their real job instead of handling, accessing, storing,
etc. the hard-copy reports and possibly manually re-entering the
data into another database.
e~Print Saves Money: Printers, paper, printer
supplies, printer maintenance, etc. and time are money. The
automated, secure virtual bursting saves the time consuming
effort of separating reports and stuffing envelopes to be sent
through the campus mail.
The following list includes the requirements for using
e~Print as well as the web address for instructions and access.
- Version 4.0 or higher of either Microsoft Internet
Explorer or Netscape Communicator is required.
- Version 4.0 or higher of Adobe Acrobat Reader, which can
be downloaded for free. Go to the
Adobe Reader download page and select the download
button.
Further e~Print information and instructions can be found on
the UConn Health Center's Information Technology web site at
http://itweb.uchc.edu/eprint/eprint.htm. Once you are
familiar with e~Print, you can go directly to the reports at
http://eprint.uchc.edu/cgi-bin/eprint.cgi. It is
strongly suggested that you add it as a bookmark in your
browser. Currently these web sites are only accessible from
within the Health Center.
The General Accounting staff has reviewed the process and can
assist you with problems you may encounter. Please contact the
individual assigned to you with any questions.

A few items that require special note:
- Your four digit FRS operator number is the User ID on
the e~Print login screen.
- Your FRS Password is the Password on the e~Print login
screen.
- The drill allows you to view a particular version of a
report. The magnifying glass allows you to search a report for
an image. So remember - drill, magnify and search.
- When searching on a particular six digit account, the system
searches for the appearance of an image. You must therefore
enter the account in the X-XXXXX format (e.g. 1-23456).
These items are discussed further on the
e~Print
instructions page. |
